he National Center for Environmental Research (C.R.E) is a public institution with a scientific and technological character. It was established by Executive Decree No. 18/264 on 17/10/2018 and became operational with the appointment of Professor Zihad BOUSLAMA as its Director on 17/01/2019.Mission:
In accordance with the tasks specified in Article 7 of Executive Decree No. 11-396 of November 24, 2011, the Center is responsible for carrying out scientific research and technological development programs in the field of the environment, aiming to address issues related to :
- The preservation, development and enhancement of natural resources
- The Evaluation and modeling of climate change and its impact on the environment
- The prevention of risks related to pollution and pollution control technologies
- The development of the green economy
- The management and the valorization of waste.
Research team:
To carry out its missions, the C.R.E is equipped with four research divisions, namely:
- Environment and Biodiversity.
- Environment and Health.
- Environment, Modelling and Climate Change
- Environment and Eco-management of waste
Each division consists of laboratories and research teams .

In addition to its national and strategic missions, the CRE provides the following services related to the environment:

- design of specific tools
The Center addresses, coordinates, and manages all matters related to the environment and responds to the scientific, technological, and socio-economic concerns of Algeria, particularly those related to the creation of Start-Ups.
Through its various administrative and scientific bodies, the C.R.E will be pleased to study any service requests from its socio-economic collaborators to affirm its feasibility.
