Research Support Personnel

The "Technological Development" branch includes the corps of research engineers. Research engineers are responsible for :

•     analyze a scientific need and translate it into technical specifications.
•     define and optimize the experimental protocol.
•     to design, develop and/or adapt analytical methods.
•     participate in the valorization of research results and the dissemination of scientific and technological information.

Candidates holding a master's degree or a degree recognized as equivalent, obtained with at least "honorable" mention or "good enough" mention, are recruited as research engineers through a competition based on their qualifications. Top positions:

•     Head of technical department.
•     Director of an experimental station.
•     Head of joint research department.
•     Head of department of the experimental station.
•     Workshop manager.
•     Head of technological development projects, in charge of coordinating the implementation.
•     technological implementation of a scientific project.

The staff of the "Engineering" branch is mainly responsible for carrying out, in their field of competence, activities in laboratory and maintenance, computer science and statistics. The track includes the following bodies:

• Research support engineers: candidates holding a master's degree, a state engineering diploma or a diploma recognized as equivalent are recruited as research support engineers through a competition based on tests.
• Engineering attachés : are recruited as engineering attachés, through a competitive examination based on tests, candidates who hold a higher education degree, a higher education diploma (D.E.S) or a diploma recognized as equivalent.
• Research support technicians: candidates holding a technician diploma or equivalent diploma are recruited as research support technicians through a competitive examination based on tests.
• Technical assistants for research support: are recruited as technical assistants for research support, through a competition based on tests, the candidates who have the level of third year secondary or an equivalent title.
• Technical agents for research support, in the process of extinction.

•    Engineering program manager, responsible for coordinating all engineering operations of the institution.

The staff of the "Scientific and Technological Information" stream is mainly responsible for carrying out, within their field of competence, activities in documentation and archives, scientific mediation and museum collections, communication and research promotion, and translation and terminology. The field includes the following bodies :

• Scientific and technological information officers: candidates holding a higher education degree or a diploma recognized as equivalent are recruited as scientific and technological information officers through a competitive examination.
• Scientific and technological information assistants: are recruited as scientific and technological information assistants, through a competition based on tests, candidates who hold a diploma of applied university studies (DEUA), a diploma of higher technician or a diploma recognized as equivalent.
• Scientific and technological information assistants: candidates holding a technician's diploma or an equivalent diploma are recruited as scientific and technological information assistants through a competition based on tests.
• Technical agents for scientific and technological information, in the process of extinction.
• Technical assistants of scientific and technological information, put in extinction.
• Scientific and technological information assistants, in process of extinction. Top positions:

• Head of section of the joint research service
• Head of information and communication programs, responsible for coordinating all information and communication operations of the institution.

The staff of the "Research Administration" stream is mainly responsible for carrying out, in their field of competence, studies, control and evaluation activities. The stream includes the following bodies:

•   Research administrators: graduates of the Ecole Nationale d'Administration who have completed their studies under Decree No. 66-306 of October 4, 1966 on the operation of the Ecole Nationale d'Administration are recruited as research administrators on the basis of their qualifications, or, through a competitive examination, candidates who hold a bachelor's degree in higher education or a diploma recognized as equivalent.
• Research management assistants: are recruited as research management assistants, through a competitive examination based on tests, candidates who hold a diploma of applied university studies (DEUA), a higher technician diploma or a diploma recognized as equivalent.
• Research management assistants: candidates are recruited as research management assistants through a competitive examination based on tests, if they hold a baccalaureate or a diploma recognized as equivalent. The recruited candidates are obliged, during their training period, to undergo a preparatory training for the occupation of the job, the duration, content and organization modalities of which are fixed by order of the minister in charge of scientific research.
• Research administrative accountants: are recruited as research administrative accountants, through a competition based on tests, candidates holding a technician diploma in the specialty or a title recognized as equivalent.
• Research management agents, in the process of extinction.

•    Head of the administrative department of the research unit
•    Head of the internal security office
•    Head of studies, in charge of carrying out any particular study, drawing up analysis and synthesis reports or ensuring the management of a project within the framework of his/her field of competence.
•    Reception and orientation officer, responsible for receiving and informing the public. In addition, he/she supervises and coordinates the activities of the agents in charge of reception and orientation.
